CIRKOPOLIS: Rémi Luchez (FR) — L’Homme Canon

Cirkopolis
Mon 09 02, 20:00
Originally, the human cannonball was a carnival attraction in which a man—securely strapped in, wearing shoes and a helmet—was fired from an unusual cannon. It was this image that inspired Rémi Luchez.

There are two of them.

He is a projectile that draws its heroic arc with its own weight.

Somewhere she sings and he floats.

L’Homme Canon is about vertigo from heights, about the intoxication of sobriety and the joy of gentleness.

"Among the pioneers of minimalist circus is tightrope walker Rémi Luchez, who has mastered the discipline of infinite symbolism. Alongside soloist Lola Calvet, he achieves a certain degree of perfection in the economy of gestures and props in order to better capture their very essence."

— Théâtre(s) Magazine

"Part tender daredevil of delicate balance, part eccentric, disheveled bird, circus artist Rémi Luchez drives us into dangerous and comical situations and defies the laws of gravity with humor."
